Required reservations guarantee you a space for your bicycle on your preferred vehicle. This means there is no risk of having to switch to a later connection, allowing you to plan your excursion with peace of mind.
In Valais, the Resabike system has proved successful for four years now: a reservation guarantees transport, and the process is simple and reliable. You can now book reservations and tickets conveniently in one step – without having to go through a separate portal.
- Online via the SBB app in the SBB online shop
- By telephone or at staffed counters and public transport customer service points. Reservations can be made up to one minute before departure, provided there is still space available, and work in the same way as buying a ticket.
The reservation fee guarantees that you can take your bike with you – and ensures that everyone can benefit fairly from this offer. The amount is in line with industry standards and is used to cover the additional costs incurred by PostBus The reservation fee applies for one whole travel route, for example from Zurich to Lenzerheide by train and Postbus.
PostBus hopes that the moderate fee will also encourage a certain level of commitment. This is because experience with the free reservation system “Resabike” in Valais has shown that many customers booked multiple transport slots and then only used one to travel. This meant that valuable capacity was blocked.
